Here are the results of SeatStory Cup VI, day 1

After the first day groups A to D have concluded, with some surprising results coming from Krefeld.

The second SeatStory Cup of the year, and the sixth overall, took off at 1pm CET. On the main stream groups A and C could be followed, whilst players in group B and D displayed their skills. Opening the event were Savjz and StrifeCro, both of whom had not been in the competitive spotlight recently. In seemingly easy manner Savjz undid himself from his opponent, taking a 3-0 victory. If such a convincing victory wasn't surprising enough yet, the game played directly after surely was. Hafu, who hadn't competed in a regular tournament in the last years, defeated Torlk 3-1. Torlk got his revenge later, however, when in the final match he cleanly eliminated Hafu from the tournament.

The group of death, group B, had Xixo and Rdu clashing first, followed by SuperJJ and KevveC. After round 1 Xixo and KevveC came out strongest, followed by Xixo defeating the Swede and securing a spot in the next round. In the lower brackets KevveC and SuperJJ met once again, after the latter had sent Rdu home with a 2-6 record in the tournament. Much like Torlk got his revenge on Hafu in group A, SuperJJ seized the opportunity and took the second spot for the next round by a 3-1 victory.

Group C, consisting of Ek0p, Forsen, Amaz and AKAWonder, had some unexpected twists. Whereas Ek0p's victory over Forsen might not have sounded like much of a surprise a week ago, just last weekend Forsen reached the semi-finals of the Esports Superstars invitational. The clash between Ek0p and Forsen was brought to game 5, which Ek0p won in the clutchest of situations. In the other match, Amaz vs AKAWonder, it was the former who came out on top. Displaying high-level plays with his Druid revolving around the [card]Aviana[/card], [card]Kun the Forgotten King[/card] and [card]Malygos[/card] combo, Amaz swept AKAWonder with a 3-0 victory. It was then Ek0p who beat Amaz to secure his spot, but later on Amaz still made it through. Although having a bit more difficulty this time, he once more defeated AKAWonder.

To round up the day, in group D it was C4mlann who went undefeated. First on the list was fellow German Gaara, who went down 1-3. C4mlann then stood eye in eye with world champion Pavel, who had left Mr. Yagut behind him in the first round. Showing no fear C4mlann sent Pavel to the lower bracket too, where Mr. Yagut was waiting once again, after the latter had shredded Gaara's hopes to continue in the tournament. The rematch was as close as the initial confrontation, again going to game 5. It became the theme of day 1 at SeatStory, but much like in group A and B it was again the redemption seeker who won: Mr. Yagut triumphed.
