The second iteration of DreamHack Valencia now has 280 available slots for ambitious players.
With Dreamhack Summer just around the corner (June 18-21), the organizers of the DreamHack Hearthstone Grand Prix are already hyping up their next big event: Dreamhack Valencia. The news post on the official DreamHack website states that their was an unexpected amount of interest in the tournament, which is why they have expanded the available slots to a 280 player limit.
Those who sign up will have to prepare themselves for an extremely tough tournament format. All 280 players enter an Open Swiss stage, with only the top 16 advancing. The top 16 players then continue in a Single Elimination bracket to find out who’s the best of them all. The entire tournament is held in a Best of 5 Last Hero Standing match format.
The tournament has total prize pool of $27,000 and awards 43 HCT points in total, which are awarded as follows:
1st - $8,000 + 15 HCT points
2nd - $4,000 + 10 HCT points
3rd/4th - $2,250 + 5 HCT points
5th-8th - $1,250 + 2 HCT points
9th-16th - $750
