Chinese streamer ZhangDing and G2’s esports manager Lothar have revealed two more Old Gods cards.
Nightmare Dragon represents one of the few end-of-turn growing effects in Hearthstone, another notable one being [card]Gruul[/card]. This 6-drop starts as 2/8 but doubles its attack at the end of each of its controller’s turn. Left unchecked for a couple of turns, at you’re looking at a 4/8, 8/8, 16/8 and beyond.
Despite its potential, it could prove difficult to protect Nightmare Dragon for so long. It’s costed pretty high and it will be an 8/8 by Turn 8 if left to its normal evolution cycle. A smart tactic would be to use cheap buffing spells, like Paladin’s [card]Blessing of Might[/card] for example. Thus, dropping it on T7 as a 5/8, you’ll have a monstrous 10/8 on T8, a body capable if killing anything on the board.

Speaking of minions that could fit in Paladin, say hello to Steward of Darkshire. A 3/3 for 3 mana, Steward of Darkness gives divine shield to a friendly 1-health minion when summoned. The card screams “aggro paladin”, able to not only empower staple early drops like [card]Leper Gnome[/card], but also the tokens summoned through the hero power. The potential of T3 Steward into T4 Coin + [card]Stand Against Darkness[/card] also sounds powerful, but as always it will come down to extensive testing to see if and how this card will fit the new standard meta.
