Na`Vi’s Hoej took the top seed, followed by Purple and German underdog Borsss.
The second day of DreamHack Winter cut off the sixteen players that will compete in the playoffs starting in a little while. The majority of the pool consists of big names, but there are a couple of newcomers also who will try to make their break-out on Saturday.
After going 7-0 in the first day, Frederik “Hoej” Nielsen and Ryan “Purple” Root kept their momentum and held the top two spots, despite each dropping a game today. Right next behind them came a trio of lesser known players Frenchmen Torlk and Tomof as well as German card game veteran Borss.
Big names like Dima “Rdu” Radu, Esteban “AKAWonder” Serrano, Jon “Orange” Westberg and Hak-Jun “Kranich” Baek will also compete in the elimination race. The Korean is also the very last player in the top 16 standings, edging out top dogs like Jan “SuperJJ” Janssen, Petar “Gaara” Stevanovic and George “Hyped” Maganzini. Kranich’s qualification came after a tiebreaker match against local player Junglebror to decide which of the two 7-2 players would move onwards.
