ROOT Gaming enters Hearthstone

More and more competitive teams from other eSports titles are embarking into the new Blizzard hit Hearthstone. Latest in that list is ROOT Gaming who decided to pick up the reinging NESL King of the Hill Amaz.

Exciting days for Hearthstone. After the acclaimed OnGameNet company in Korea announced their detailed plans for the venture into Hearthstone and IEM dropped a big bomb featuring the virtual card game at the big stage in Katowice, more excitement comes out of the house of ROOT Gaming. The fan favorite organization from StarCraft 2 announced today that they have opened a Hearthstone squad to compete in the growing market of the game.

Thus far the squad is not much of a team, but a one-man show with the American Amaz being the sole player with the ROOT tag. The announcement of the partnership between the two parties was released just mere moments after Amaz successfully defended his NESL King of the Hill title, becoming the first ever player to do so in NESL's KotH history.

I'm really happy to finally start our HearthStone squad. We've been looking at prospects for a while and I'm really happy and excited to help Amaz build a competitive squad around him. Amaz's stream is really entretaining and informative, and being recognized as one of the best priests in the world, I'm a bit of a fan. I've got two priest decks myself and I am trying to make a "shadow priest" work - I'll take this opportunity to suggest to Blizzard to please buff ShadowForm somehow.
Welcome to ROOT Amaz - we're very excited to work with you!

On the website ROOT Gaming did not only extend a friendly welcome to the new member, they also hinted at the fact of extensive scouting for potential other players to join Amaz. With the way the eSports scene is picking up steam, it is only a matter of time for other notable free agents to get signed by the teams, scrambling for a spot in a potentially large eSports market.
