A New Game Plus mode is currently in development for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the remake of the original 2013 game, enjoyed a successful launch a week ago, but Ubisoft is not planning to stop there just yet. The studio has revealed that it is working on a New Game Plus mode for the game, with potentially new rewards on the horizon.

New Game Plus mode confirmed for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced
The development of the New Game Plus mode for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced was confirmed by game director Richard Knight, who shared the news during an hour-long interview with YouTuber JorRaptor (as reported by GamesRadar+).
Watch the interview below:
New Game Plus is an unlockable game mode that allows players to start the game from the beginning while retaining previously earned gear, levels, and skills. The mode lets players replay the game with an already overpowered character, often while facing stronger enemies and discovering additional items.
When asked whether Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced would receive a New Game Plus mode, Knight confirmed that it is currently in development. He said it is a natural and low-risk feature for the team to implement, particularly as last year's Assassin’s Creed Shadows also included the mode.
"Well, this is the one thing I can say: Yes, we're working on that right now. It's one of the first things. Partly because [AC: Shadows] has already built their version, so it's considered a low-risk feature for us. We're still doing the work, so I can't promise exactly a day or anything, but we're definitely working on this one. It's just such a natural thing."
Knight elaborated on the work involved in bringing the mode to the new pirate-themed Assassin’s Creed remake. He credited Simon Lemay-Comtois, the associate game director of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, who "did the hard work" of introducing New Game Plus. While the mode in Shadows gave the team "something to look at", Knight emphasised that the two games are "not exactly the same", meaning they present different development challenges.
Knight also teased that New Game Plus could include new rewards, "if it's up to him".
How the New Game Plus mode worked in AC Shadows
While there is currently no specific information on how New Game Plus will work in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, we can look at Assassin’s Creed Shadows' implementation of the feature in 2025 to get a rough idea of what to expect.
In the game, inventory, gear, weapons (and customisations), mounts, maps, ally customisations, hideout progression, character level, mastery points, and knowledge points are all carried over in a New Game Plus playthrough. Players unlock the mode after completing the main story on any save file.
When is the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced New Game Plus mode coming out?
Although Ubisoft has confirmed that it is developing a New Game Plus mode for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, there is currently no official release date for the feature.
