Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced sells two million copies on launch day

Players can also redeem an exclusive AC: Black Flag Resynced reward to celebrate the milestone.

In a surprising reveal, Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced sold more than 2 million copies on launch day, 11 July. The milestone marks a strong start for the remake of the 2013 fan-favourite Black Flag, and appears to position it among the best-performing Assassin's Creed titles in the franchise's history.

Ubisoft is notoriously tight-lipped about its sales figures, but Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced's achievement has prompted the company to publicly share the 2-million milestone. The announcement was made through the game's Steam page on 11 July, with producer Justin Ng stating:

2 million copies sold on launch day! To everyone who has jumped aboard the Jackdaw, shared their adventures, posted screenshots, shared gameplay, and celebrated this launch with us: thank you.

The statement also revealed that the development team is working on addressing player feedback and complaints, while providing an exclusive reward as a thank you for reaching the milestone.

How many copies has Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced sold?

Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has surpassed two million copies sold on launch day. While there are limited official benchmarks for comparison, this is an impressive opening figure that puts the remake on track to become one of the franchise's most successful entries.

The game has already surpassed the early milestone of the latest Assassin's Creed release, Assassin's Creed Shadows, which reached 2 million players within 48 hours of launch. Meanwhile, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, regarded as the best-selling entry in the series, attracted more than 1.8 million players within its first week and recorded the biggest launch in the franchise history. However, Ubisoft never disclosed its exact day-one sales figures.

With two million copies sold on launch day, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced appears to have exceeded Valhalla's early player milestone. While Ubisoft has not revealed performance figures for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the remake has already made an impact on the PC platform Steam.

According to SteamDB, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced peaked at 104,756 concurrent players on Steam on 12 July, making it the biggest Assassin's Creed launch on the platform. It surpassed Assassin's Creed Shadows, which reached a peak of 64,825 concurrent players during its launch period last year.

How to redeem the free Crimson Storm Sails bundle in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

As a thank you to players, Ubisoft is offering a set of rewards that can be redeemed by anyone who owns a copy of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

The rewards include the Crimson Storm Sails, which allow players to customise the appearance of the Jackdaw, as well as 1,500 Animus Keys that can be used to purchase additional cosmetics from the Exchange.

Players can redeem the rewards by entering the code [ACBF-PHGN-SYBJ-RTRF] through Ubisoft Connect's code redemption page. Ubisoft has not announced an expiration date for the offer, so players are advised to redeem the code as soon as possible.
