Blizzard has revealed the roadmap for Overwatch Season 3 Midcycle, featuring the return of several game modes, a new seasonal Drive, a new forgeable Mythic Legendary skin, and multiple cosmetic collections arriving in the in-game Shop. These new additions will begin rolling out from now until early August. Read on to catch all the new events coming to Overwatch, along with the latest skins up for grabs!

What new events are coming to Overwatch?

The second half of the season will bring back the Overwatch Summer Games from 14 to 30 July, allowing players to enjoy several Arcade game modes, including Lucioball, Lucioball Remix, and Winston’s Beach Volleyball.

The experimental Quick Play: Hacked mode will also return with two different variations, with the first running from 16 to 19 July and the second from 28 July to 3 August. The first mode is revealed to be a 6v6 mode with one Tank, three Damage, and two Supports.

A new Season 3 Drive will run from 6 to 10 August, introducing a fresh progression track that rewards players with an exclusive blue and purple Signature to further customise their profiles.

Players can also look forward to collecting more Loot Boxes through the Junkrat’s Loot Hunt event, which runs from 31 July to 3 August. According to the patch post, your progress sticks around for the entire event, and you can tackle challenges however you want–all with no daily resets to hinder your progress.

On top of that, a new set of Twitch Drops will be available. Players can watch Overwatch streamers with Twitch Drops enabled from 14 July, 11.00 AM PT, to 3 August, 11.59 PM PT to earn exclusive Summer Games Hero Sprays.

The rewards are as follows:

  • 1 hour: Dev Doodle Lifeguard Junkrat Spray
  • 2 hours: Dev Doodle Lifeguard Lucio Spray
  • 3 hours: Dev Doodle Lifeguard Kiriko Spray

How to get the new Mythic Mauga World Forger skin

The new Mythic World Forger Mauga skin can be forged through the Mythic tab in the Overwatch in-game Shop using Mythic Prisms.

"Mythic World Forger Mauga draws inspiration from the forces that shaped oceans, islands, volcanoes, and the skies above them, transforming him into a larger-than-life figure whose aura won’t be ignored," Blizzard described the skin.

The Mythic skin features four tiers of customisation:

  • Level 1: Unlocks the base appearance of the Creator God of the Sea and Sky.
  • Level 2: Adds two hairstyle customisation options.
  • Level 3: Allows players to choose different elemental colour variations, ranging from "volcanic crimson" to "earthly gold and stone".
  • Level 4: Adds glowing tattoos, flowing hair, and ambient visual effects.

What’s new in the Overwatch in-game Shop?

A new set of summer-themed skins is arriving for several Overwatch heroes, who are said to be attempting to blend into a beach crowd while gathering intel during a high-stakes heist. The Beachside Collection introduces new summer outfits for Widowmaker, Doomfist, Juno, Vendetta, and Anran, available from 14 July to 3 August.

A brand-new OWCS Radiant Collection will also be available from 21 July to 10 August. Celebrating the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) taking place at the Esports World Cup in Paris, the collection features skins including Radiant Guardian Ana, Radiant Spirit Mizuki, and Radiant Watcher Emre.

Meanwhile, the Date Night Collection will return from 21 July to 10 August, bringing new skins for Cassidy, Juno, and Lifeweaver.
