What is Overwatch Season 3’s new Hybrid map?
As seen in Shion’s Hero Trailer, Overwatch is adding a new map set in Tokyo, Japan in Season 3. This will be a Hybrid map called Neon Junction, and it takes the form of a cyberpunk-infused futuristic version of Japan.
Speaking of Shion, the Omnic Hashimoto clan leader is joining the fray as Season 3’s new playable hero. Shion will be a Damage character with some pretty fun abilities, including dual-wielding pistols and riding a bike, among others. You can read our full breakdown of her kit here.
Overwatch Season 3 cosmetics and battle pass
As always, a new season of Overwatch means new events and a battle pass to grind through. This season’s battle pass features cosmetics for Genji, Zenyatta, Domina, and more. Two new Mythic skins are also in the works: Mythic Ascendant Phoenix Illari and Tokyo Rebel Hanzo Weapon.
Creator collab cosmetics are also coming for Overwatch content creators, along with more cosmetic bundles for the in-game shop. Additionally, a YOASOBI collaboration is also coming in Season 3, themed after the titular musical duo.
A unique new tier of cosmetics is also being introduced this season: Ultra. Ultra skins appear to be souped-up versions of Legendary skins, featuring additional audio and visual effects. Sierra is getting a cat cafe-themed Ultra skin this season, complete with an actual cat for her to interact with.
Overwatch Season 3 Anima Strike event
Overwatch Season 3 is also adding a brand-new event called Anima Strike, and its structure is a little different compared to previous in-game events. In this event, you can earn unique rewards depending on which path you go down in a progression tree. Progression will likely be tied to event challenges.
Overwatch Season 3: Into the Tiger’s Den launches on 16 July, 2026.
