Rose Belmont's hunt begins this October.
Konami has finally locked in a release date for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse during tonight's Xbox Games Showcase. A new trailer showcased more of the game's stylish side-scrolling action, while also confirming Rose Belmont as the adventure's protagonist. The showcase ended with the long-awaited release date announcement: Castlevania: Belmont's Curse launches on 15 October 2026.
First revealed during PlayStation's State of Play in February, the game received a second trailer in April that offered a closer look at its combat and exploration, both heavily inspired by the series' classic 2D entries, which also featured several historical figures appearing as corrupted enemies, including Joan of Arc.

What is Castlevania: Belmont's Curse about?
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is the latest entry in Konami's long-running gothic action franchise. Developed in collaboration with Motion Twin and Evil Empire, the game introduces players to Rose Belmont, a new heir to the legendary vampire-hunting family.
The story is set in Paris in 1499, where Dracula's forces have launched a deadly assault on the city. As darkness spreads across France, Rose must battle monsters, corrupted foes, and supernatural threats in an effort to stop Dracula's influence from consuming the land.
Armed with the Belmont family's iconic whip, Rose will explore dangerous environments, uncover secrets, and fight to prevent Dracula's castle from rising. While much of the focus is on classic side-scrolling action, the trailers have also highlighted exploration and platforming elements familiar to longtime Castlevania fans.

The vampire hunt begins on 15 October 2026, placing Castlevania: Belmont's Curse comfortably close to Halloween, the series' favourite time of year.
