Players hoping to jump into Playground Games' reboot of Fable next year will have to wait a little longer. Xbox has announced that the fantasy RPG has been delayed and is now set to launch in February 2027, while also confirming that a fresh look at the game will be shown during the Xbox Games Showcase on 7 June.
The release date change was revealed in a post from the official Xbox account on X, which said the move would allow Fable to have “the dedicated moment it deserves”.

Xbox confirmed that Fable has been moved to February 2027 as part of its plans for upcoming game launches.
Explaining the decision, Xbox said that “this year is packed with incredible games for XBOX players to enjoy”, naming several upcoming releases including Grand Theft Auto VI.

Xbox also confirmed that players will get “a major new look” at Fable during the XBOX Games Showcase on 7 June, alongside updates on its broader line-up.
