Warhammer 40,000 Darktide reveals new Skitarii class and Expeditions update in June

The Adeptus Mechanicus is coming to Hive Tertium.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide players, rejoice; the Adeptus Mechanicus has arrived. The omnissiah’s feared servants, the Skitarii Alpha Primus, are officially set to become Darktide’s next playable class, with an all-new playstyle, unique customisations, and a non-linear talent tree.

The class will launch in-game on 23 June, 2026.

When is the new Skitarii class launching in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide?

PvE co-op shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s next playable class has officially been revealed. The Skitarii Alpha Primus, considered zealous servants of the Machine God, are joining the game on 23 June, 2026. The Warhammer 40,000: Darktide–Skitarii Class & Deluxe Edition are already available for wishlisting today.

The Mechanicus Skitarii class is unlike any other in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, offering a refreshing new playstyle for those who might have already logged plenty of hours in the game. The Skitarii can be customised in multiple ways, with players able to choose material types, augment patterns and Forge World of origin. Four distinct voice sets and voice modulation options are also available.

The Skitarii class’ weapons are varied, including legendary Arc weapons, dazzling Phosphor Blasters, slicing Transonic Blades and high-powered Galvanic Rifles. The class also comes with a non-linear talent tree, which allows players to build a Skitarii up in many different ways–from long-range assassins to a storm of living electricity.

The Skitarii Class will launch in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on all platforms as paid DLC, costing US$11.99. The class will be released on 23 June, 2026.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide future updates in 2026

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is also getting some new content, on top of the new Skitarii class. A Dark Rites live event is coming, allowing players to destroy Heretic Idols during their missions to unlock the Omnisiah’s Blessing Buff, which increases their physical stats in coherency. However, each destroyed idol will also increase the mission’s difficulty.

An Expeditions update is also coming on 23 June, 2026, alongside the new Skitarii class. With this update, players can explore the badlands of Atoma at Dawn in a new Expedition area. More balance changes and bug fixes are in the works, as well.

Additionally, the Traitor Vanguard and Cultist Vanguard enemies are also coming to Warhammer 40,000 Darktide on 23 June. Warhammer 40,000 Darktide is currently on sale to celebrate the Warhammer Skulls Showcase 2026, with a 75% discount off the base game alone.
