A24 is officially making an Elden Ring movie.
This week, A24 and Bandai Namco Entertainment officially confirmed a release date for their upcoming movie adaptation of Elden Ring: 3 March, 2028. The movie is set to be written and directed by Alex Garland, with production set to begin this spring. The movie's cast will also be headlined by Kit Connor and Ben Wishaw, along with Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, and more.

Elden Ring movie locks in full cast, sets 2028 release date
A24’s upcoming Elden Ring movie adaptation is set to begin production this spring, with a planned release date of 3 March, 2028. The movie, which was first announced almost a year ago today, will be written and directed by Alex Garland, who has long collaborated with A24 for his previous directorial projects, including Ex Machina, Men, Civil War, and Warfare.
The movie will be shot in IMAX, and its full cast was revealed today:

The live-action film will be produced by George R.R. Martin, who was also involved in the making of the game, along with Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich, and Vince Gerardis. Images from the movie’s set surfaced online earlier this month, ostensibly depicting the Church of Marika.
FromSoftware’s Elden Ring franchise currently consists of two instalments: 2022’s Elden Ring and 2025’s co-op spin-off Elden Ring Nightreign. No further sequels or spin-offs in the franchise have been announced yet.
