Is this a Sierra trailer, or an Emre trailer?
Blizzard Entertainment has officially revealed Overwatch’s 51st hero: Sierra, a Damage character arriving in the game’s upcoming second season of content. The hero was shown off in a newly-released animated Hero Trailer this week, featuring two other recent additions to the game’s playable roster: Freja and Emre.

Who is Sierra in Overwatch?
Overwatch teased its upcoming 51st playable hero last week with early concept art, but we now have an official first look at her full design and name: Sierra. A new animated trailer entitled Summit Breach provides a closer look at Sierra’s abilities, as she chases after members of Talon looking to make off with stolen assets from a location called the Naughton Vault.
Sierra kicks things off in the trailer by contacting the Overwatch team at Watchpoint: Grand Mesa, pleading with them to stop Talon from stealing weapons. While Sojourn promises backup (which never arrives), Sierra takes things into her own hands and attempts to slow Talon’s forces down.
This proves difficult when those forces are revealed to be none other than Freja and Emre, who have teamed up to commit crimes for Talon together. The trio then go to battle, as Sierra attempts to stop them from leaving, giving us a few hints at her in-game abilities.
Sierra’s primary weapon appears to be an automatic pulse rifle, and she can fire off a trick shot dart that allows her rifle’s projectiles to home in on the enemy. The dart also appears to explode after a short period of time. She has a drone that follows her around in battle called DoROTHy, which she can grapple onto and use to reposition herself.
The trailer ends with both Emre and Freja using their ultimate abilities to bring Sierra down, though Emre–or rather, the AI-like consciousness inhabiting Emre–needs some convincing before he leaves without ending her life. Emre and Freja then depart, unknowingly being tracked by Sierra, who promises to see them “real soon.”
When is Sierra launching in Overwatch?
You won’t have to wait too long to see more of Sierra’s gameplay kit, thankfully. Blizzard plans to release a gameplay trailer for the character later this week, before the hero launches in Overwatch Season 2.
Overwatch Season 2 will launch on 14 April, 2026 with a new hero and redesign for Anran.
