Peni Parker will soon be playable in another Marvel game.
Game developer Arc System Works has officially unveiled another Spider-person joining the playable roster of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. During the ARC WORLD TOUR 2025–2026 Finals in South Korea, it was revealed that Peni Parker would make her fighting game debut in the upcoming title, as part of the newly-unveiled Amazing Guardians team.

Is Peni Parker in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls?
Arc System Works is slowly but surely unveiling the full launch roster for its upcoming fighting game MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, in advance of the game’s August 2026 release window. This week, the developer confirmed that Peni Parker, an alternate-universe variant of Peter Parker, will join the game’s playable roster.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ roster of heroes is divided into different superhero factions, only one of which has been revealed thus far: Unbreakable X-Men, consisting of Danger, Magik, Storm, and Wolverine.
This week, another team was announced: Amazing Guardians, led by none other than the Amazing Spider-Man himself, Peter Parker. The team also consists of Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Peni Parker, the latter of whom is described as an “interdimensional gadget whiz.”
Much like in Marvel Rivals, Peni will fight in her signature mech SP//dr, a suit created by her father mimicking traditional Spider-Man abilities. Using the mech, players will be able to deploy gadgets and use tools to gain the upper hand in battle. Peni also tends to slip into Japanese dialogue during gameplay, a detail which publisher PlayStation Studios will be brought to life differently across other language voice-overs.
Who is the Promoter in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls?
Another mystery character named Xirena Awhina, AKA the Promoter, was also revealed in Peni Parker’s debut trailer. The Promoter is described as “an Elder of the Universe who travels the galaxy organizing entertainment on a supernova scale.” She kicks off the events of the game by inviting Marvel heroes to “a high-stakes tournament that will determine the fate of planet Earth,” though it has also been teased that she might not be working alone.
Players will also be able to form their own four-character teams in-game, with the game using Marvel lore to automatically generate team names based on the chosen hero composition. Team names will appear onscreen and will be announced by a ring announcer, allowing for more immersion in combat.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls will soon be playable via a hands-on demo at EVO Japan 2026 (1–3 May, 2026), with Peni Parker included as a playable character. The new Knowhere battle stage will also be playable. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches on PlayStation 5 and PC on 6 August, 2026.
