Fortnite teases upcoming Honkai Star Rail collab with Blade and Kafka cosmetics

Fortnite has unveiled an upcoming HoYoverse collaboration.

Epic Games has released an image teasing Fortnite’s next big in-game collab. This time, it looks like the developer is partnering up with renowned gacha game maker HoYoverse for the first time, in order to bring Honkai: Star Rail cosmetics to the game.

The newly-released image was accompanied with a caption referencing Trailblazers, Honkai: Star Rail’s protagonists, while featuring the weapons of two playable characters: Blade and Kafka.

Honkai: Star Rail's Kafka and Blade might be coming to Fortnite

Fortnite maker Epic Games is officially teasing an unlikely crossover with the sci-fi turn-based gacha game Honkai: Star Rail. The developer teased the crossover much like its usual upcoming collabs: with an enigmatic image aimed to stir up hype and anticipation, before it later drops an inevitable trailer to confirm the collab’s contents.

These crossovers typically include in-game cosmetics for purchase in the Item Shop, though some of them can be rather involved, going so far as to include themed battle passes and map changes. While the exact contents of the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail collaboration are unknown, we do at least know that it will star two of the game’s most well-known playable characters.

In the image, Epic showed off two swords: one with a heavily-damaged black blade, and the other with a red blade. The black sword is unmistakably the Shard Sword, belonging to Yingxing–a character in Honkai: Star Rail who has now stepped into the role of Blade. The red katana is equally unmistakable, belonging to the playable character Kafka, who also uses guns in battle.

These weapons, coupled with the teaser’s winking caption mentioning “trailblazing,” all but confirms the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail collab. The only thing left is for Epic Games to officially confirm a release date for the crossover, and the full suite of in-game cosmetics players can expect.

Fortnite’s collabs have typically taken mere weeks to launch following online teasers such as these, so Honkai: Star Rail fans shouldn’t have to wait long to see Kafka and Blade represented in-game.
