You can now play Escape from Tarkov in Escape from Duckov.
Popular extraction shooter Escape from Duckov has announced an official collaboration event with Escape from Tarkov, the game that it pays homage to. Escape from Duckov developer Team Soda announced in a blog post that the collab, alongside a new mount system and festival content, will go live on 10 February.
Escape from Duckov's collab event with Escape from Tarkov will see players “step into a brand-new map and face off against classic characters from Escape from Tarkov," according to Team Soda's blog post. While the developer did not reveal any more details on what players can expect from the collab, they did release a short teaser:
Escape from Duckov, as the name suggests, is Escape from Tarkov but with ducks. Both games are set in a world on the brink of collapse, where players must survive by scavenging for resources, building a base, and fighting enemies to escape. Unlike Tarkov's first-person perspective, Duckov is a top-down shooter. Duckov also differs in that players must also assemble a spaceship in order to make their escape. And did we mention that you play as a duck in Duckov?
Escape from Duckov launched back in 16 October last year, almost a month before Escape from Tarkov Version 1.0 was formally released on 15 November–though Tarkov had been in development since 2012, launching as a closed alpha in 2016 and later as a closed beta in 2016. Jeff Chen, who formed Team Soda's five-man dev team, notably said in an interview shortly after the game released that he was a hardcore Tarkov player with over 1,400 hours in the game.
Escape from Duckov had a very successful release, racking up over 500,000 sales during its launch weekend and over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam. Duckov hit over a million copies sold and over 300,000 concurrent players on Steam not long after.
