Life is Strange Reunion will officially end the Max and Chloe saga, launches in March 2026

Max is back on her time-rewind shenanigans.

Following a leak from the PEGI ratings agency, Square Enix has officially revealed Life is Strange: Reunion via a reveal livestream held earlier today. The game reunites the original protagonists of Life is Strange (2015), bringing Max and Chloe back together in a direct sequel to 2024’s Life is Strange: Double Exposure.

This time, Max has to figure out how to stop a fire from killing everyone at Caledon University, while Chloe deals with strange memories from conflicting timelines. Both characters will be playable in the game, each of them armed with different abilities to boot.

Life is Strange: Reunion will launch in March 2026

Square Enix and developer Deck Nine are reuniting for another instalment of the Life is Strange saga, bringing players back to the series’ beloved original protagonists Max and Chloe. The story picks up directly following the conclusion of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, with Max Caulfield still working as a photographer-in-residence at Caledon University.

After returning from a weekend away, however, Max finds Caledon suddenly ablaze in a fire that swallows up her friends, students, and fellow faculty members alike. The tragedy leads her to return to using her Rewind powers, by using a picture to reverse time by three days before the accident. Now, she has to stop the fire.

However, a surprising figure also returns to Caledon at this time: Chloe Price, who is suddenly alive and well in all timelines, following Max’s merging of the timelines at the end of Life is Strange: Double Exposure. Chloe is struggling with memories of a life she never got to live, and is looking for help from Max.

Both Max and Chloe are playable in Life is Strange: Reunion. Max has her signature time-rewinding powers from the 2015 game, complete with automatic rewinds when she reaches a fail state. Meanwhile, Chloe’s Backtalk ability from Life is Strange: Before the Storm also returns, allowing her to talk her way through intense situations and gain the upper hand.

Hannah Telle returns to play Max, while Rhianna DeVries returns to play Chloe Price, having played the role in most of Chloe’s appearances since the original game, and thus replacing Ashly Burch in the role.

Life is Strange: Reunion launches on 26 March, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A TV show based on the original 2015 game is also in the works.
