The game literally said "burn" the cheaters to death.
Arc Raiders players who have been squeezing through locked doors may want to reconsider their next attempt. The game’s newest patch has replaced the long-standing exploit with a far louder warning system, as several locked rooms now erupt in flames the moment someone enters without the proper key. It is a fix that leaves very little room for second chances, especially for anyone hoping to slip through undetected.
For a while, players used barricades in solo runs, or climbed onto a teammate’s head in squads to hop through locked doors. The trick became a regular sight across matches. This update now interrupts that path completely, meeting anyone who tries the exploit with a burst of heat from wall-mounted flamethrowers.
The change has already been captured in clips from the community, including one from a player called Scrappy who entered through the old exploit and was immediately engulfed in fire.
Update 1.4.0 adds room defences and introduces Stella Montis modifier
Embark Studios confirmed in the official notes that every locked room on every map has been fitted with new mitigation tools intended to stop unintended access. These tools activate only when players use unauthorised methods to enter. Once triggered, the room fills with flames thrown from multiple devices built directly into the walls. The effect is instant, and leaves no time for escape.
The update adds several other fixes. The gun quick swap exploit that allowed players fire faster by switching to a quick use item and back has been removed. The exterior route into Spaceport's Control Tower locked room is now blocked. Low resolution textures that sometimes appeared in the main menu have been corrected. Lighting artefacts on map entry have also been resolved.
Additional adjustments include stopping players from pushing one another by jumping on each other’s backs, and ensuring that Raider Voice settings correctly persist after restarting the game. The update also adds a new Stella Montis modifier for players to encounter during their runs.
This patch is now live on all platforms, and requires a client restart to begin the download.
