An ancient menace returns, as Monster Hunter Wilds gears up for its biggest challenge yet this December.
Something big is stirring in Monster Hunter Wilds. Capcom has revealed that Free Title Update 4 is set to arrive on 16 December, adding a powerful new monster, expanded gameplay features, and performance upgrades for all hunters ready to take on fresh challenges. The announcement was made through Monster Hunter’s official X account on Wednesday (12 November):
Gogmazios joins Monster Hunter Wilds in December
One of Free Title Update 4’s main highlights is the arrival of Gogmazios, the Elder Dragon. Gogmazios was first revealed during Capcom’s Special Online Program at the Tokyo Game Show 2025. The monster was originally from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and was both loved and feared by fans of the game, because it was notoriously difficult to defeat. In the reveal, Capcom established that the upcoming monster would still have a high difficulty level, even for veteran hunters.
A new level of quest difficulty is also expected with the introduction of 9-star hunts, which will only add to the challenge, and could be related to the release of Gogamazios.
Festival of Accord arrives in December
Monster Hunter Wilds’s Festival of Accord has also been confirmed to be part of the upcoming update. The Festival of Accord is a seasonal event in-game that adds time-limited content, such as themed decorations, special equipment, gestures, and new quests. These festivals change the appearance of the game's main hub and introduce new activities for players to complete.
Since the festival is usually tied to the four seasons, players might expect this rendition to be winter-themed.
Expanded endgame content
Title Update 4 will also focus on the endgame progression system, and expand on current endgame content. This will allow for more replayability for players. More details on the endgame expansion has not been revealed just yet, but we might learn more about it closer to the release date.
Weapon buffs
There will also be some weapon buffs in this update. Capcom confirmed that multiple weapon types will receive balance adjustments to refine their overall performance in hunts. The goal is to align each weapon’s damage output and utility with its intended role, ensuring fairer hunts and smoother combos across the board.
On top of all these upcoming updates, Capcom also promised some performance improvements. Nothing much was elaborated in this regard, so players will just have to watch out for more updates.
Monster Hunter Wilds' free Title 4 update will launch on 16 December, 2025.
