Attendees can try Arc System Works’ new 4v4 Marvel fighting game for the first time this August at Evo 2025 in Las Vegas.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will have its first playable demo at Evo 2025. The news was shared by director Kazuto “Pachi” Sekine in a post on the PlayStation Blog on 22 July.
The upcoming 4v4 superhero fighting game from Arc System Works will be available to try at the tournament, which runs from 1 to 3 August in Las Vegas.
The Evo build will allow players to assemble a team of four from a lineup of six Marvel characters: Captain America, Iron Man, Storm, Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, and Doctor Doom. This marks the first opportunity for the public to go hands-on with the title, following its initial reveal during Sony’s State of Play earlier this year. Attendees who play the demo will also receive a limited-edition pin at the event.
First look at mechanics and team-based action
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 2.5D fighting game in which players compete in tag team combat using an ensemble of Marvel Comics characters. Teams of four face off against one another, aiming to knock out all opponents by landing repeated attacks that deplete their health bars. The game combines traditional fighting mechanics with the fast-paced switching dynamics of tag-based systems.
On top of this, a Developer Combat Panel will take place on Friday, 1 August at 8:00 PM PST/ 11:00 PM SGT, which will be hosted live on the Evo showcase stage and streamed online via Evo's official YouTube channel. Members of both Arc System Works and Marvel Games will appear to discuss the game and “shed new light on the core gameplay mechanics.”
In the PlayStation blog post, Sekine thanked fans for the strong response to the game’s debut trailer, saying that the team is looking forward to sharing more during the Evo panel, and even more so, for players to try the demo version at the event. While development is still ongoing, he described the Evo showcase as a key moment to gather feedback and “assemble with all of the players and create an amazing game together.” He added that the team is “trying out many new things to offer a fresh experience” and is eager to hear what fans think.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is in development for PlayStation 5 and PC, with a release window currently set for 2026.
