There are more than three thousand games participating in the June 2025 edition.
The first two weeks of June have been hectic, with game anniversaries, launches and huge showcases all crammed into the span of two weeks. Now, another new event just kicked off: Steam Next Fest’s June 2025 Edition.
Running from 9 to 16 June, Steam Next Fest is a week-long event on Steam that features thousands of free playable demos, developer livestreams and live Q&A sessions. It’s designed for players to explore a wide range of upcoming titles and test out early builds before release.
A trailer for the event was published on YouTube on Monday, 9 June:
What's worth checking out?
Among the demos available are Ratatan, a spiritual successor to the 2007 rhythm game Patapon, and Hirogami, a 3D action platformer set in an origami world, published by Bandai Namco. There’s also Dispatch, a game pitched as a superhero workplace comedy. These are just a few of the more visible titles.
Higher-profile games are involved too. ShiftUp’s PlayStation 5 bestseller, Stellar Blade has a PC demo included, offering players a chance to try out the game before deciding whether to buy it.
Beyond the bigger names, there’s a wide mix of niche genres and indie projects. First-time developers and smaller studios are presenting games that range from escape rooms and simulators to otome games and visual novels.
Brain Jar Games’ Dead as Disco blends martial arts with rhythm gameplay; something that might appeal to fans of music and dance mechanics. Meanwhile, Outrider Mako offers a beautifully crafted 2D pixel art roguelite focused on delivery runs, grounded in Japanese mythology and atmosphere.
In total, nearly three thousand demos are featured. To help players navigate through a sea of demos, Steam offers personalised recommendations via each user’s discovery queue, based on previous games played. Alternatively, players can explore the top-level genre list through the sidebar.
With hundreds of titles across every imaginable genre, there’s something interesting worth discovering for everyone, whether you’re actively searching or just clicking around.
