Call of Duty Black Ops 7 stars Milo Ventimiglia as David Mason, set in 2035

This week’s Xbox Games Showcase confirmed the next Call of Duty game.

Activision and Xbox Game Studios have officially confirmed the next Call of Duty game: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The first-person shooter sequel stars Milo Ventimiglia as David Mason, a returning protagonist from Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Its story campaign is set in the year 2035, and appears to be a tad more mind-bendy than last year’s Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 leaps forward in time to 2035

Game developers Treyarch and Raven Software have revealed the next big Call of Duty game, which acts as a direct sequel to 2024’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 takes a jump forward in time to the year 2035, where protagonist David Mason assembles a black ops team to combat a new threat. Black Ops fans might remember David Mason as the son of Alex Mason, the original protagonist of the first Black Ops game.

Here’s Xbox’s description of the game:

The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos, ravaged by conflict and psychological warfare following the narrative events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. With cutting-edge technology in hand, the Black Ops team led by David Mason must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponizes fear above all else.

Squad up with friends or play solo in the innovative Co-op Campaign, harness near-future weaponry in the signature Multiplayer mode packed with brand-new maps, and descend into the next twisted chapter of Round-Based Zombies in the heart of the Dark Aether.

David Mason is played by Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes, This is Us), who is seen in this teaser interacting with surreal butterflies, dreamy environments, and eventually Raul Menendez, a recurring Black Ops villain.

More information for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is coming this summer. No release date for the game has been announced.
