Helldivers 2 is taking the fight to Super Earth.
Arrowhead Game Studios’ PvE multiplayer game Helldivers 2 is launching an all-new update that brings the fight to Super Earth. Not only will players finally partake in an all-out battle in Super Earth for the first time in this sequel, but they’ll also take on all-new Illuminate monsters. The faction has arrived on Super Earth to threaten democracy, and it’s up to you to stop them.

The Illuminate invade Super Earth in Helldivers 2’s newest update
The Illuminate faction is expanding its ranks, throwing all-new monsters at the player to squash. Among these are the Stringray, which provide air support and throw out strafing runs, and the Crescent Overseer, which attacks Helldivers in cover by laying barrages. Another Illuminate experiment called the Fleshmob has also arrived, a mish-mash of Voteless parts thrown onto the battlefield to kill Helldivers.
A PlayStation Blog post teases “other, even larger ships” but offers no further details on them. Regardless, it’s safe to assume that more threats are coming to threaten Super Earth’s liberty. Players do have new weapons to fight back these forces, however.
Weapon customisation is also coming in this update, allowing players to unlock new weapon levels by completing missions, and thus unlock all-new attachments. These attachments will allow players to change colour patterns, adjust ammo capacity, add muzzles, and do more smithing to make their weapons sing on the battlefield.
Additionally, a Masters of Ceremony Warbond is also dropping on 15 May, 2025, this week, with more cosmetics for players to unlock. The Superstore has also been adjusted to allow for all items to be readily available at all times, instead of having them go on rotation.
Helldivers 2’s latest update is now available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
