Speedrunners are already setting records by finishing Elden Ring in under an hour.
The speedrunning life cycle of Elden Ring is young and somewhat disorganised right now, but one speedrunner has already beaten the game in less than 34 minutes. The speedrunner, Distortion2, might have set a new record for Elden Ring’s fastest completion time by doing so.

With this run, Distortion2 has managed to beat Elden Ring in just 33 minutes and 55 seconds. This was an ‘Any%’ speedrun as well, which means that there were no rules dictating how much of Elden Ring’s content had to be completed before the game could be considered beaten. The speedrunner took the fastest route to the end credits of the game, ignoring more than a few bosses and opting out of collecting all the runes.
Elden Ring's speedrunning community is still growing, but it currently isn’t organised enough to make any speedrunning record official, let alone separate speedruns into separate categories. Some players will beat Elden Ring by making use of glitches, while others will aim to slay all of the game’s bosses as fast as possible. Distortion2 is still trying to beat the game in less than 30 minutes, and continues to top his own records almost everyday.
Distortion2 is believed to hold the record for beating Elden Ring with the fastest completion time right now, but the speedrunning community will likely make things more official over the next few months with proper documentation. Some players probably have over 60 hours in Elden Ring without having beaten the game yet, and that’s okay. We can’t all be Distortion2!
