Behold foul tarnished, Elden Ring’s minimum and recommended PC requirements have been revealed.

Developer FromSoftware has revealed Elden Ring’s minimum and recommended PC system requirements, and they’re a little more steep than some players expected. The game’s official Twitter page is currently awash with users wondering if their systems are going to be up to par.

The game’s requirements had previously appeared on Steam briefly, but have only now been made official. At minimum, FromSoftware recommends a Nvidia GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 along with 12GB of RAM and an Intel i5-8400 processor to play the game. For those looking to get their money’s worth, the recommended specifications start from 16GB of RAM and an i7-8700K CPU paired with either an Nvidia GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 for graphics.

Here are the requirements in full:

Elden Ring minimum specifications

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400/AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
  • Memory: 12GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, 3GB/AMD Radeon RX 580, 4GB
  • DirectX: DirectX 12 (Feature Level 12.0)
  • Storage: 60GB
  • Sound Card: Windows-compatible audio device

Elden Ring recommended specifications

  • OS: Windows 10/Windows 11
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K/AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070, 8GB/AMD Radeon RX Vega 56, 8GB
  • DirectX: DirectX 12 (Feature Level 12.0)
  • Storage: 60 GB
  • Sound Card: Windows-compatible audio device

These requirements are a definite step up from previous FromSoftware games, which isn’t surprising considering Elden Ring's ambitious scope. However, the tweet neglected to mention the exact quality settings these requirements allow players to play Elden Ring on. The recommended specifications probably won't cover the game’s most demanding graphical options, while the minimum specifications might only allow you to run the game on its lowest available settings.

One should note that ray tracing will be added to the game as part of a post-launch update, which will bump these specifications up a tad. If you’re looking forward to Elden Ring and want to play it with the best graphical settings possible, it’s best to look at these requirements as a jumping off point for now. Elden Ring launches on February 25, 2022 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
