Honkai: Star Rail's version 2.3 will boast a gripping finale to the Penacony storyline, as well as introduce new characters, gameplay, and more.
Honkai: Star Rail is on a roll! With version 2.3 right around the corner, the wonderful and compelling storyline of Penacony is about to come to a close. We’re excited to see how the Trailblazer will conclude their journey in Penacony, but there’s also lots more to look forward to!
Firefly
Firefly is one of the most anticipated releases in the game so far, not only because she’s downright adorable, but because she has one of the most unique kits so far.
Firefly focuses on the Super Break mechanic, which is a new mechanic released during version 2.2 alongside the Harmony Trailblazer. Super Break relies on the toughness DMG of your unit, which means Firefly will be the first DPS to fully rely on the Break Effect with no Crit stats needed. Firefly’s Path is Destruction, and her element is Fire.
And since HoYoverse has been pushing Firefly as a potential love interest for the Trailblazer in quests past, Firefly will synergize most efficiently with the Harmony Trailblazer!
Firefly will debut in the first half of the version, alongside Ruan Mei’s first rerun, so get your jades ready.
Jade
Jade is another addition to Honkai: Star Rail’s growing roster of femme fatales, and is a Quantum hybrid area-of-effect enabler sub-DPS unit, basically the Erudition version of Topaz.
Because of her hybrid kit, Jade will prove valuable to players who will need all their guns in Pure Fiction!
Jade will debut in the second half of the version, alongside Argenti.
Farewell, Penacony
The Trailblazer’s adventure in Penacony is about to come to an end with version 2.4. Throughout the storyline, Sparkle has had it out to create havoc as Aha’s Masked Fool, specifically with the buttons she gave out that “could” spell the doom of Penacony in a massive explosion. But since Sparkle’s just in it for the chaotic fun, who knows what will be in store for us?
Firefly’s story arc is also coming to a conclusion as she is reaching the end of the “script” that the Stellaron Hunter Elio has prepared for her. Will she stay with the Stellaron Hunters? Or will she set out to find her own way?
Sunday’s fate after our final battle against him has been left in the air, but we’ll likely get the answers we couldn’t get from Robin regarding his status. We might even get to find out who exactly is behind the plot to revive the Aeon of Order Ena.
Return to the Xianzhou
Although our Penacony adventure is coming to an end, we’re going back to Xianzhou for another!
The Astral Express crew will make a pitstop to the Xianzhou Alliance just in time to attend the Wardance Festival. We’ll get the chance to reunite with familiar faces, and meet new ones as well.
Our return to Xianzhou will introduce us to new characters, including those from other Xianzhou ships like Yunli and Jiaoqiu, who have been drip marketed, as well as more unrevealed characters like the generals Feixiao (Yaoqing), and Huaiyan (Zhuming).
March 7th Variant
March 7th will participate in the Wardance Festival of Xianzhou, and through her training will gain the ability to switch to a new Path and element. March 7th will be the first character other than the Trailblazer to be able to do so!
The March 7th variant will walk the Hunt Path, and her element will be Imaginary.
Divergent Universe
The Simulated Universe is getting an upgrade!
Under the guidance of the enigmatic Mr. Screwllum, the new project “Divergent Universe” will utilize technology from his home planet to bring gameplay improvements.
For instance, the "Arithmetic Mapping" function in the Divergent Universe testing removes character download limitations. If a character's level is below the current Equilibrium Level Cap, it will automatically increase to meet the cap.
The update also introduces the "Equation" feature, where combining buffs from two different Paths grants corresponding combat abilities once the required amount is achieved. Additionally, when facing defeat in the Divergent Universe, Trailblazers can now restart challenges without needing to force-stop the game.
Honkai: Star Rail version 2.3 “Farewell, Penacony” will be made available on 19 June.
