PARIVISION and 1w dominate Groups C and D, respectively, while Groups A and B both host three-team deadlocks for the top spot.
European juggernauts
PARIVISION and
1w Team have positioned themselves as the early favourites to claim the championship of the Dota 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 as they were the only teams to maintain a perfect record through the second day of the Group Stage.
While PARIVISION and 1w are the clear leaders in Groups C and D, respectively, Groups A and B are both in a deadlock.
BetBoom Team,
Team Falcons, and
Xtreme Gaming are all tied for the lead in Group A while
Aurora Gaming,
Nigma Galaxy, and
Team Liquid share the top spot in Group B.
Read on as we break down all of the action in day two of the Dota 2 EWC:
BetBoom, Falcons, and Xtreme tie for the lead in Group A
GamerLegion didn't hold on to the top spot of Group A for long, as Xtreme swept them to open the second day of Group Stage action. The other two big names in Group A, BetBoom and Falcons, also dispatched their opponents in 2-0 sweeps, with BetBoom taking down Poor Rangers and Falcons cruising through
Rune Eaters Esports.
As a result, BetBoom, Falcons, and Xtreme all ended day two in a three-way tie for the lead in Group A with 3-1 records apiece. With BetBoom and Falcons having already played each other to a draw in their matchup, both teams will be looking ahead to their respective matchups with Xtreme in days four and five to decide which squad will head directly to the Playoffs.
Meanwhile, GamerLegion are treading water with a 2-2 record and will need to secure wins in the coming days to guarantee a spot in the Survival Stage. Rune Eaters and Poor Rangers, on the other hand, have the threat of early elimination looming over their heads after only managing 1-3 and 0-4 records so far.
Aurora, Nigma Galaxy, and Liquid share the top spot in Group B
Aurora and Nigma Galaxy both swept their opening matches in day one and were set to face off in a pivotal match to kick off the action in Group B for day two. While Aurora easily won the first game of the series, Nigma Galaxy outlasted them in a 64-minute thriller in game two to force a draw.
Meanwhile, Liquid bounced back from getting forced to a surprising 1-1 draw by
PlayTime in day one by sweeping
Level UP. PlayTime themselves managed another 1-1 draw with
L1GA TEAM to round out the day two results for Group B.
Aurora, Nigma Galaxy, and Liquid all finished the day with 3-1 records. This three-team deadlock should get broken in day three, as Nigma Galaxy and Liquid will face off in a pivotal match while Aurora will face an easier opponent in L1GA. Meanwhile, PlayTime are set to take on Level UP, with the latter still on the hunt for their first win of the Group Stage.
PARIVISION maintain their perfect start in Group C
Just like Group A, all three day two matches in Group C ended in 2-0 sweeps. PARIVISION continued their perfect start to the Group Stage by soundly sweeping
Vici Gaming (VG). With a 4-0 record so far, PARIVISION are in prime position to secure a direct berth to the Playoffs. Day three will see them take on
REKONIX, which should be another easy affair before PARIVISION close out their Group Stage campaign by taking on
Team Spirit and
MOUZ.
Speaking of Spirit and MOUZ, they ended the day tied for second place with 3-1 records apiece after they swept
Team Nemesis and REKONIX, respectively. While they are unlikely to usurp PARIVISION, Spirit and MOUZ will be battling for the second seed of Group B and the advantageous position it will grant in the Survival Stage. Their respective matchups against VG will be pivotal in achieving this goal.
Meanwhile, REKONIX and Nemesis remain winless through the first two days of the Group Stage. With all due respect to both squads, they are most likely headed home soon and can only hope to at least bow out with some wins under their belts.
1win Team remain perfect in Group D as OG stumble
After claiming an easy 2-0 win over
IC x Insanity in day one, 1w swept
Virtus.pro (VP) to improve their Group Stage record to a clean 4-0 after day two. With Group D looking to be one of the more competitive groups of this preliminary stage, 1w's perfect record so far will go a long way towards securing them a direct berth to the Playoffs.
Team Yandex, who had been the biggest favourites to claim the top spot in Group D, bounced back from their 1-1 draw with
OG in day one by making short work of IC x Insanity. Yandex still have a good chance to steal the top spot away from 1w, especially with both squads set to face off in the final day of the Group Stage. But with a 3-1 record so far, Yandex need to win all of their games before they take on 1w to have the best shot at a direct Playoff berth.
LGD Gaming tied with Yandex for second place in Group D after they improved to a 3-1 record with a 2-0 sweep over OG. It remains to be seen if LGD can emerge as a challenger for the top spot in their group, and a showdown with 1w in day three will test their mettle.
With 1w, Yandex, and LGD in firm control of the Top 3 spots in Group D, the fourth seed–and a spot in the Survival Stage–will be fought over by OG and VP. OG have been the more promising of those two squads, as evidenced by their 1-1 draw with Yandex, but their 0-2 loss to LGD does narrow their margin for error. OG and VP will face off in the final day of the Group Stage, which will likely decide which of the two teams will advance to the Survival Stage.
Meanwhile, IC x Insanity are the fifth team to fail to secure a single win through the first two days of the Group Stage. The other teams in the group are likely looking at them for easy wins, but they can still ruin plans if their opponents underestimate them too much.

What is the Dota 2 Esports World Cup?
The Dota 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup 2026 will be the last Tier 1 tournament of the 2025-2026 competitive Dota 2 season before it culminates in The International 2026 in August. With many of the teams competing in the EWC also qualified for this year's Dota 2 world championship tournament, it should serve as a good preview for the battle for the Aegis of Champions next month.
The Dota 2 EWC features 24 of the best Dota 2 teams in the world and will take place from 7 to 19 July in the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France. The teams will be fighting for EWC glory and the lion's share of US$750,000 out of the tournament's US$25 million prize pool.
The Dota 2 EWC is split into three stages; the Group Stage from 7 to 12 July, the Survival Stage from 14 to 15 July, and the Playoffs from 16 to 19 July.
The Group Stage will see the 24 teams split into four groups of six teams each to play in a single round-robin with best-of-two matches. The top team from each group will advance directly to the Playoffs, the second to fourth-placed teams will move to the Survival Stage, while the two bottom finishers will be among the first to be eliminated.
The Survival Stage will feature the 12 teams that finished third to fourth in their respective groups during the Group Stage, with four spots in the Playoffs up for grabs in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. The Survival Stage will open with the third and fourth seeds from different groups taking each other on, with the winners moving on to face the second place teams for the four Playoff spots.
Finally, the Playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket featuring the four teams that finished as the top seeds of their groups in the Group Stage as well as the four teams that made it out of the Survival Stage. All matches in the Playoffs will be a best-of-three except for the grand finals, which will be a full best-of-five series.
