OG part ways with TORONTOTOKYO after just two months

OG struggled to produce positive results in the two months TORONTOTOKYO was part of its roster.

OG have parted ways with Russian offlaner Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek after just two months, with the organisation announcing that the player's loan period to them has been terminated. TORONTOTOKYO joined OG in early April to replace Nikko “Nikko” Bilocura, who had been placed on the inactive roster to make way for the Russian offlaner's entry.

TORONTOTOKYO's departure from OG comes after a continued period of disappointing results for the squad. OG bombed out of the Southeast Asian qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 29 in TORONTOTOKYO's first outing with the roster in April, then finished 9th-10th in BLAST Slam VII at the end of May.

What's next for OG following TORONTOTOKYO's departure?

OG have yet to announce who will take over TORONTOTOKYO's spot in the lineup, though a replacement is expected to be revealed in the coming days, with the regional qualifiers for The International (TI) 2026 coming up. The Southeast Asian regional qualifier for TI 2026 will take place from 19 to 23 June, with OG facing the likes of REKONIX, GLYPH, Team Nemesis, and Execration for the right to be their region's lone representative in this year's iteration of Dota 2's annual world championship tournament.

After the TI 2026 qualifiers, OG are also set to play in the Esports World Cup 2026's Dota 2 tournament, which will be hosted in Paris. France from 6 to 18 July.

It remains to be seen if OG will return to fielding a full Filipino lineup or once again look to other countries and regions to reinforce their roster. For now, OG's roster is as follows:

  1. John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas
  2. Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer
  3. TBA
  4. Timothy “TIMS” Randrup
  5. Rolen Andre Gabriel “Skem” Ong
