Tundra Esports tap V-Tune as stand-in at PGL Wallachia Season 8

Pure is expected to rejoin the team during the PGL Wallachia Season 8 Playoffs.

Western European Dota 2 powerhouse Tundra Esports have announced a major roster shift for PGL Wallachia Season 8, with Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko stepping away to deal with visa processing. The organisation has named Alik “V-TUNE” Vorobey as a stand-in during Pure's absence, although the latter is expected to rejoin the team later in the event.

PGL Wallachia Season 8, set to run from 18 to 26 April, promises to be a stacked showdown, with the best teams gathering once again at PGL’s studio in Bucharest, Romania, to compete for a US$1 million prize pool.

Heading into the event, Tundra Esports are widely regarded as favourites, having secured victory at ESL One Birmingham 2026 just over two weeks ago. The team has already claimed four titles in the first half of the season, including BLAST Slam IV and V, DreamLeague Season 28, and ESL One Birmingham 2026.

However, the team will have to navigate the Group Stage of PGL Wallachia Season 8 without their carry player, as Pure focuses on arranging his visa. This marks yet another absence for the Russian star, who previously missed PGL Wallachia Season 7 in March–where he was replaced by David Nicho “Parker” Flores–due to similar reasons.

This time around, V-Tune will be filling in his shoes temporarily. The former Virtus.pro carry appears to be a reliable substitute, albeit not quite at Pure’s level. He has stood in for several teams in the past, most recently representing Aurora Gaming at Wallachia Season 7, where he helped secure a respectable Top 8 finish.

Despite the stand-in situation, which makes their performance level hard to gauge, Tundra remain a daunting opponent at Wallachia Season 8.

Why Pure is absent from PGL Wallachia Season 8

PGL events hold its own significance, with a prestigious title and massive prize pool. But Pure's absence in back-to-back PGL Wallachia events likely happens as he prioritises securing visa approvals for the crucial mid-year period, when major tournaments such as the Esports World Cup 2026 and The International 2026 are set to occur.

Tundra Esports are expected to receive direct invitations to these landmark events following their strong run this season.
