Aurora Gaming welcomes Ws and Kaori ahead of DreamLeague Season 28 qualifiers

Aurora Gaming has finalised its roster ahead of major qualifiers, adding Ws and Kaori.

Aurora Gaming has finalised its new Dota 2 lineup, adding Malaysian offlaner Chung “Ws`” Wei Shen and Ukrainian support Oleh “Kaori” Medvedok, several days after parting ways with Chon Kien “Oli” Chan and Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek.

They join Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko, Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman, and Miroslaw “Mira” Kolpakov ahead of the packed Dota 2 major qualifier season. We will immediately see the synergy of the new lineup as the DreamLeague Season 28 qualifiers kick off today.

Aurora continues to blend EEU and SEA talent

Aurora Gaming has been on an experimental run since the start of the 2025/2026 season, recruiting Southeast Asian talent and merging it with its well-established Eastern European (EEU) lineup.

The community was intrigued when Aurora first welcomed Indonesian midlaner Mikoto and Malaysian support Oli, though the latter departed after three months with the team.

Entering the new year, the organisation continues this mixed approach, blending the two regions by bringing in Malaysian offlaner Ws. He previously played for Talon Esports and most recently competed with Vici Gaming. While Ws’ best result so far has been an impressive third-place finish at DreamLeague Season 28 with Talon, he has yet to find consistent success in Dota 2’s top-tier scene.

In the position 5 role, Kaori’s addition to the team comes as little surprise. The 22-year-old support bolstered his reputation after winning PGL Wallachia Season 4 while playing as a last-minute stand-in for MOUZ. Now donning Aurora’s jersey, it remains to be seen whether Kaori can deliver the same impact.

This roster will enter a crucial phase as qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 28, ESL One Birmingham, and PGL Wallachia Season 7 take place throughout January. Aurora Gaming will begin competing in the DreamLeague Season 28 Eastern European (EEU) qualifiers, which start later today.
