Tickets for the 2026 ESL One Birmingham will be on sale starting September 23.
ESL has announced the next installment of its ESL One Dota 2 LAN tournament series, returning to Birmingham, the United Kingdom for the fourth time in history. The organiser unveiled key details regarding the tournament, including dates, format, prize pool, and ticket information for those interested to attend live.
The first edition of ESL One Birmingham took place in May 2018, which became ESL’s fastest selling Dota 2 tournament ever at the time. Following the blazing reception, ESL took the stage to Birmingham once again in 2019, which saw a record-breaking viewership for the organizer’s Dota 2 series. That record would then be broken by the third ESL One Birmingham which took place in 2024.
It’s clear that Birmingham always delivers–and ESL is keen to witness that passionate “Brum” effect once again, setting up the fourth ESL One Birmingham for the next season.
ESL One Birmingham 2026 details revealed
As it typically goes with ESL’s Dota 2 LAN series, ESL One Birmingham 2026 boasts a US$1 million prize pool. But we can expect more intense competition as the tournament will rally a lineup of 16 teams–a larger pool of competitors as opposed to only 12 teams in previous iterations.
ESL One Birmingham 2026 will run from 22 to 28 March, with the final three days of the event open for the live audience in bp pulse LIVE. The top teams will not only grab a lucrative slice from the prize pool but also secure valuable EPT Points–points that dictate direct invites in other ESL Dota 2 tournaments and the year’s Dota 2 competition at the Esports World Cup.
The tournament will host the usual format of a round-robin Group Stage followed by a double-elimination Playoffs. The Group Stage will part teams into two groups of eight, in which they’ll clash in a BO2 (best-of-two) format. Group seedings will determine upper bracket and lower bracket teams, while the lowest scoring teams will be eliminated early. All games in the Playoffs will be a BO3, except for the Grand Final, which will host the standard BO5 format.
