OG and Old G to swap rosters for the Summer Tour of the 2023 DPC season

After a couple of disappointing tours by the young OG squad, Ceb and Topson have decided to take matters into their own hands to bring glory back to OG.

It can be difficult to step into the shoes of two time TI champions. So when the young OG squad was selected for the 2021-2022 Dota 2 season, there was skepticism all around on whether they could uphold the banner of one of esports’ most successful organizations. The young squad performed well in their first season, but the 2022-2023 season has been a whole different story.

OG struggled in the 2023 DPC Winter Tour, and have a lot of work ahead of them if they want to make it the Berlin Major from the 2023 DPC Spring Tour. There is also a scenario where they can get relegated to Division II. With the team in such a dire situation, Sebastien "Ceb" Debs and Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen have taken the drastic step of saving the reputation of this legendary team – the entire OG roster will be shifted to the Old G banner while Ceb, N0tail and their roster, which qualified for the Western European Division II League for the 2023 DPC Summer Tour, will play under the OG banner.

This does seem like a drastic step, and GosuGamers reached out to Ceb for his thoughts on it. This is what the Frenchman had to say:

"OG has a reputation to uphold, and if it can’t be done by the new guard, the old guard will have to pop some vitamin pills and step in to get the job done."

Questioned on whether the young roster would still be called Old G, Ceb said:

"Old G, New G, who cares what they call themselves? The only expectation from them is to throw the game when they come face to face with us, whether it be WEU Division II, or The International."

Now the question is, Ceb has so blatantly asked the current OG roster to throw games against them. But is that even allowed as per the current DPC rules? Valve does not have a concrete rule book, and it is at times like these when it would be absolutely essential.

Luckily for us, it won’t matter. Because this is an April Fool’s article. Go back to losing some MMR!
