Fy returns to Vici Gaming

Chinese legends Fy and Fenrir, who placed second at TI4 under the Vici Gaming banner, reunite once more, though the latter remains in the coach position.

Xu "fy" Linsen is back at Vici Gaming after an underwhelming 2022 season with Invictus Gaming. He will be reuniting with his old teammate, Lu "Fenrir" Chao, who took on the coach role at VG for the past two years.

Following a third place finish at TI9 with PSG.LGD and his departure from the team in 2020, fy had a rough couple of years. TI10 went disastrously for him and the Chinese all-star team put together under the Elephant banner.  After being eliminated in the first round of the lower bracket, fy took time off and skipped the beginning of the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit. He joined Invictus Gaming during the second Tour, when they were already in Division II of the Chinese regional league, but stayed inactive until the third and final Tour, when he tried to make a final push for TI11. Unfortunately for iG, all they could accomplish was promotion to Division I, with no success in the regional qualifiers for the biggest tournament of the year.

Heading into the 2023 season, fy will not take the risk of skipping the start of the season. However, he will be starting from Division II once again. While iG, fy’s former team, promoted in the last tour of 2022 to Division I, Vici Gaming had relegated to Division II.

Given the result, fy is not the only addition meant to get VG promoted at the end of the first Tour of the 2023 DPC. Gao "Setsu" Zhenxiong has been brought in from RNG to take on the mid-lane duties, replacing Guo "Xm" Hongcheng, while much like at PSG.LGD, the offlane gets an injection of young talent by bringing aboard, Li "niu" Kongbo.

Shaohan “Erika” Yang
Gao “Setsu” Zhenxiong
Kongbo “Niu” Li
Xu “fy” Linsen
Haiyang “Yang” Zhou

Starting with 2023, the two divisions of the DPC regional leagues will not run at the same time anymore, and being in Division II, Vici gaming will enter the competition on the 30th of January, after Division I games conclude.
