T1 are down to three players less than a month before The International 11 regional qualifiers.
“All good things come to an end,” posted T1 on their social media channels and waved goodbye to their carry player Kim "Gabbi" Santos and their midlaner, Karl "Karl" Baldovino. The latter has been with the organization for nearly two years.
As one of T1’s most constant players, Karl reached the finals days at the WePlay AniMajor in the previous DPC season, falling eventually to Evil Geniuses in the lower bracket finals, but bringing enough points to the team to qualify for TI10. On The International stage, T1 reached the top 8, but underwent slight roster adjustments ahead of the regional finals of 2022 Dota Pro Circuit first Tour. They brought in Gabbi from Talon Esports and placed second in the Tour 1 SEA regional finals with him. Gabbi stayed with T1 through the whole DPC year and qualified for the ESL Stockholm Major.
However, a brutal elimination in the first round of the lower bracket in Stockholm, followed by a fifth place finish in the last Tour of the year, places T1 outside the top 12 in the DPC rankings and forces them to readjust for the big battle for a spot at TI 11 through regional qualifiers.
So far, Southeast Asia has just one team locked in for TI11, courtesy of BOOM Esports’ victory in the first round of the lower bracket at the PGL Arlington Major. There are just two slots left for a direct invite to TI11 and Fnatic are aiming at one of those spots. They can secure it if they win over beastcoast in the day two opening series of PGL Arlington Major playoffs stage.
TI11 regional qualifiers are set to begin on the 3rd of September on a bright new patch which will be deployed sometime after the Arlington Major is over.
