Team SMG wave goodbye to Roddgeee in the post Winter Tour shuffle

With the Regional Finals done and dusted, the post Winter Tour shuffle is officially starting and one of the first teams to tinker with their roster following the recent results is SEA representative SMG.

Southeast Asia has already taken the fans by surprise with early roster movements. Both BOOM Esports and T1, winners and runners up of the Regional finals, have already made roster changes despite the good performance in the first Tour of the Dota Pro circuit.

Team SMG placed top four in the regional league, which wouldn’t have been enough for a Major ticket, but it was good enough to ensure them a spot in the Regional Finals battle. Unfortunately, they couldn’t seize the opportunity to add some DPC points to their name last week in the SEA Regional finals and heading into the Spring Tour, they waved goodbye to their hard support, Roger "Roddgeee" Tan Boon Thye.

Roddgeee joined SMG back in June of 2021 and fought to promote the team from Division 2 of the previous season to Division 1. This DPC year, SMG earned 60 DPC points with their fourth place finish in the Winter Tour SEA regional league.

Left without a team now, Roddgeee has about two weeks to find a new roster to join for the Spring Tour. The same applies for SMG, who need to finalize their line-up before March 14, when the second season of the 2022 DPC is set to begin in all six regions.
