New and more familiar faces chosen for a casting shot at EPICENTER XL Major

Six newer faces have been awarded a spot casting for EPICENTER XL Major after receiving positive feedback and recognition for their efforts and talent.

Many answered the call for casters put out by EPICENTER XL two months ago. At the time, it was thought only one would prevail. However, after what seemed to be an overwhelming response and difficult decision, organizers have chosen six aspiring casters to have a moment in the spotlight commentating for the group stage in Moscow starting April 27th.

Note: The winner will be one that has not had any prior experience casting the LAN parts of Majors or The International.

Grant "GrandGrant" Harris is no stranger to most of the community, especially those in the North American region. Not only is he an Evil Geniuses commentator and streamer, he has made appearances at BTS, ROG Masters, Manila Masters, WESG and DotaPit League. Despite his promising career, he has yet to have had experience casting the LAN parts of Majors or The International.

Darren "KillerPigeon" Elmy was most recently a part of DreamLeague Season 9, but the selection of him was most likely made prior to his gig with the Minor event. At DreamLeague he was well received and complimented by fans and the community alike for his hype and game knowledge. The new caster was mostly 'discovered' during his EPICENTER qualifier broadcasts and already showing to be comfortable in front of the camera.

The host and the rest of the broadcast talent have not yet been identified, giving the newcomers some time to revel in their newly founded fame and good fortune.

The EPICENTER XL playoffs are scheduled for Moscow with the group stage taking place April 27th - May 3rd and the main event at Moscow’s VTB Ice Palace sports arena on May 4–6th. Twelve teams will be competing for the lion's share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and 1500 TI8 qualifying points.

Two-time defending champions - Team Liquid and local CIS leaders Virtus.pro have received direct invites, along with Team Secret, Newbee and Na'vi. Six other teams from each of the regions - OG, Team Empire, compLexity Gaming, paiN Gaming, LGD Gaming and Mineski will be on hand to compete, plus Fly to the Moon - the CIS team that was the sole survivor of the best-of-one madness qualifier.
