Invictus Gaming eliminate VG J from SL i-League Invitational S2

Four teams will be sent home by the end of today’s matches and the first to say goodbye to their Chinese fans are VG J.

Both VG J and Invictus Gaming got seeded in Group A and both had a bad start in the event. IG lost their opening series to TnC while VG J was defeated by Alliance yesterday, which lead to a full Chinese elimination match up in the opening series of day two.

After they got demolished by Theeban '1437' Siva’s Jakiro tactics in day one, IG came to do exactly the same with VG J. Paired with Troll Warlord in game one, the two- headed dragon accomplished his mission beautifully for IG.

Game One

The first game of the series started extremely well for IG who drew the first blood on  Bai 'rOtk' Fan’s offlane Bristleback and killed him for the second time immediately after he returned into the lane. VG J’s response was ganking the mid lane time and time again. Xu 'fy' Linsen and Lu 'Fenrir' Chao’s repeated early rotations to mid lane prevented Ou 'Op' Peng’s Death Prophet from snowballing and delayed their towers going down to her ultimate. However, the first tier one tower went down in IG’s favor, regardless. IG’s safe lane supported by Jakiro dominated rOtk who lost his tower in just six minutes. For the mid game stage everything resumed to who had the better initiation and the big cooldowns ready for a fight. Despite having the Aegis advantage, VG J were not able to break IG’s high ground defense nor they were able to stand tall in team fights.

IG secured the second Roshan kill for themselves and went straight for VG’J base, wiped them out with the first tier three tower push, and forced the GG call.

Game Two

Another Jakiro line-up, this time paired with Ember Spirit and Dark Seer, brought IG a clean victory over VG J. rOtK’s team tried to mess with IG’s plans for a fast push by sending out an aggressive trilane with Batrider, Sand king and Warlock. However, they weren’t successful at all and rOtK was forced to jungle to find his level six along with the much needed Blink Dagger. With  Xu 'BurNIng' Zhilei left to pretty much free farm in the safe lane and with the Dark Seer creating a lot of troubles in the offlane, IG took full control of the game and eliminated VG J from StarLadder i-league invitational S2.

IG will have to also defeat Alliance later on today to advance to the playoffs of the event. The series is scheduled to commence around 10:00 CEST, right after the group B first elimination series, which is happening right now between Newbee and Faceless.
