Team Singularity punched their ticket for Taiwan in the second of the European qualifiers for ZOTAC Cup Masters - a $100,000 event to be held in Computex Taipei, Taiwan starting May 30th.
Prodota Gaming had been awarded a direct invite into the qualifiers - entering into the competition in the quarterfinals. They overpowered Double Dimension 2:1 and then took out Hala Ares in a tidy 2:0 sweep to enter into the grand finals first.
Team Singularity had earned their place throught the first open qualifiers and survived the brutal one game elimination series against 4 protect 5. They continued through the brackets without dropping a single match and upsetting Ninjas in Pyjamas and then Team Empire.
When, push came to shove in the Grand Finals, Team Singularity pushed hard and were relentless. In an overwhelming and convincing 2:0 sweep, they toppled over Prodota Gaming for the LAN spot.
With $100,000 prize pool on the line, the squad will compete at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei against Cloud 9, Invictus Gaming, Stan, Fnatic and three other teams - two invited and one more qualified from SEA.
The ZOTAC Cup Masters kicked off earlier in March with the first of their regional qualifiers. There will be a total of six qualifiers; One for NA/SA, two for Europe, two for SEA and one for China. The Chinese, NA, both EU qualifiers and one SEA qualifiers have already been completed.
