Team Faceless sent the Dota Pit Season 5 favorites home

The second elimination game of the event just come to an end. Team Faceless crushed Digital Chaos and sent them home while they continue their way through the lower bracket.

Day two came up with big surprises and upsets. The favorites of Dota Pit Season 5 were sent down the lower bracket where they played in a best of one elimination series after being beaten by Team Secret. Their opponents, Team Faceless made a good showing against the boys in blue today, forcing out a three game series. Unfortunately, Evil Geniuses took the lead in the last game and secured a spot in the semi-finals.

Driven by the crave to continue their journey in Split, Croatia, Faceless destroyed Digital Chaos in a 40-minute game.

While Rasmus ‘MiSeRy’ Filipsen chose a Drow strategy, alongside Venge and Queen of Pain, Team Faceless took them by surprise with a Phantom Lancer as their last pick. Both DC and fL decided to go for tri-lanes, leaving the offlaners by themselves. First blood occured around the 5th-minute mark, when David ‘MoonMeander’ Tan was stuck between the trees and couldn't escape the three Radiant heroes who surrounded him.

From the 5th-minute mark MiSeRy, on the Weaver, started to move on the map as he desired, and thus managed to rebalance the match. Although the DC captain did all that he could to bring his team above the floating line, Dominik ‘Black^’ Reitmeier and his teammates had complete control over the map.The permanent rotations made by Earth Spirit gave the fL players a huge advantage in the early game due to the pick-offs he helped create. Starting from the 10th-minute mark, the Americans started to stay as grouped as they could and re-think their priorities. With the gold advantage in their hand from towers, DC managed to take control of the game, gaining a six kill advantage.

Faceless understood that they needed to adapt and changed their strategy to a defensive one - placing wards in their own jungle for map control. Their awareness left them without outer towers but in a safe spot. Until the 20th minute mark weaver was the MVP of the game, but the situation totally changed at that point. From here on out it was the SEA players who took full control, taking the first Roshan after a perfect Reverse Polarity caught three people.

Even though DC played amazingly and managed to put pressure on the towers, Faceless showed their strength fight after fight because of the incredible Daryl Pei ‘iceiceice’ Xiang Koh RPs and Phantom Assassin`s crits. A few minutes later and another aegis was claimed by Faceless, and with this fL entered in the American`s base ready to close out the game. DC couldn't do anything to stop the push and with only two heroes left on the map, they were looking powerless.

The 40-minute mark found Aliwi ‘w33’ Omar and Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fominok defending the ancient from mega creeps while the SEA players prepared the final assault. After one more impeccable RP, DC declare defeat, calling the GG and giving Team Faceless the chance to claim the Dota Pit title.
