OG qualify for Dota Pit League Season 5

The boys in green won the last Dota Pit League Season 5 European qualifier and became the eighth team that will be travelling to Split in January.

The Boston Major champions had to go through a qualifying cycle of four teams in total in order to reach the finals. The four participants were also the first European teams to test out the new 7.00 patch in official games. The qualifier was played between December 14th and December 16th.

Despite playing with two stand ins due to the team captain, Fly, and the mid lane player, Ana, taking a vacation after the Major, OG overcame the Polish team Alternate aTTaX 2-0. After them, OG faced the winner of the other semifinal, Alliance, and got another clear 2-0 without too much trouble.

At the final, it was the Serbo-Croatian Elements Pro Gaming that tried to make a stand against the Boston Major champions. Things started in the worst way possible for OG, as they lost the first two games and were just a game away from being eliminated. The boys in green, however, demonstrated champions’ mentality and won the next three games in a row to win the Grand Finals.

The main event will take place in Split, Croatia between January 20th and January 22nd and will feature a prize pool of $125,000 USD.
