Team Faceless: Dota Pit Season 5 tickets in the bag

Iceiceice & co. landed the third consecutive SEA qualifiers victory and secured their tickets to Split, Croatia for Dota Pit Season 5 after reigning supreme at the Boston Major regional qualifiers and The Summit 6.

Team Faceless seems to be truly unstoppable as they claim the win at each and every SEA qualifier they participate in. Today they defeated MVP Phoenix in the Dota Pit Season 5 SEA grand finals with an overall 3-1 score, consolidating their position as the strongest team in the region.

Although Faceless was not even due to play in the Dota Pit #5 SEA qualifiers, getting a spot as a replacement for Fnatic just a day before the competition would have started, the team once again swept through their adversaries to reach the grand finals from an upper bracket position. Starting their road to Croatia with the series against Mineski, Faceless dropped their 17 matches winning streak as they lost the first game against the Filipino squad. However, they took the series with a final 2-1 score and went on, sending MVP Phoenix into the lower bracket.

The Koreans fought their way back into the finals to claim a rematch against Faceless but unfortunately for them the outcome was the same. The Singaporean squad took the first two games of the grand finals extremely fast, emerging victorious in less than 30 minutes. Game three, however, went in MVP’s Phoenix favor despite playing a greedy Anti-Mage - Phantom Assassin draft against a Drow Ranger Aura strategy. The Korean tactic was punished in the last game of the series by Faceless, who claimed their LAN finals spot with arguably impeccable Morphling and Outworld Devourer plays coming from Dominik 'Black^' Reitmeier and Anucha 'Jabz' Jirawong respectively.

Team Faceless will join Wings Gaming, Digital Chaos, Virtus Pro, Team Secret, Newbee and two more yet to be decided qualified teams in Split Croatia at the end of January next year. The fifth Season of Dota Pit is scheduled to take place at the exact same location as Season 4, Spaladium Arena from the 20th to 22nd of January with a starting prize pool of $125,000. Don’t forget that, as per usual, Dota Pit prize pool can be increased through in-game ticket sales and the tournament Chest Treasure, soon to be available in the store as well.
