Alliance dropped into TI6 Lower Bracket by EHOME

The first game of day two of the main event at The International 6 would see an upper bracket match up between Alliance and EHOME.

EHOME, coming from the Wildcards, played amazingly to dominate Group B while Alliance themselves played valiantly to secure their upper bracket showing. In the end, only one of these teams would secure a definitive top 6 spot while the other will be bounced into the lower bracket.

Game One

A fairly slow start to the game saw first blood fall after over five minutes as EHOME found a way to break into the Alliance top lane killing off Joakim 'Akke' Akterhall on the Keeper of the Light. Even though EHOME had a lead in the scoreline, 3-1, Alliance completely controlled the net worth graphs – with the top three spots all being Radiant heroes. The game continued at a rather slow pace with both teams finding pick offs here and there and continuously farming.

Twenty minutes passed before EHOME managed to sneak into the Roshan pit and secure themselves an aegis and with this in hand, they moved to push down the tier two tower in the bottom lane. Soon after this, Gustav 'S4' Magnusson made a small error and ended up going down and as this happened, Alliance began to fall apart for a brief period, losing three more in quick succession. From this point, the Dire controlled the game, claiming another aegis at thirty minutes without contention.

With the aegis in hand, EHOME pushed straight down mid and went high ground, dropping the mid tier three tower. Barely five minutes later Alliance found a chance to turn the game mid lane, but it was EHOME that completely wiped the Radiant team and Alliance had no option but to throw in the towel moments later, calling GG and giving EHOME game one.

Game Two

This game would see first blood fall a lot faster, with Akke making a great rotation to top lane to secure the kill on Lu 'Fenrir' Chao's Shadow Demon. With ten minutes passed, both teams seemed to be playing more aggressively than game one and the score line was even at 4-4. However, Alliance started to bring their line up together as they hunted down EHOME and the Dire team retaliated in the same manner. It was EHOME however that began to take the lead on the back of this aggression.

As twenty minutes passed, EHOME began to make a few errors, allowing Alliance to draw even on the fights which occurred. Suddenly Alliance were beginning to look stronger and ready to maybe turn the game back in their favour. Knowing that they were losing control, EHOME began to dance around the Roshan pit. With a great smoke play they managed to bring the game back into their control completely as they dropped four from the Radiant and suffered no losses.

The game now looked over for Alliance as EHOME wiped them from the map and moved in to drop the barracks mid lane. With 33 minutes passed, EHOME claimed an aegis and looked to end the game. After they dropped the bottom barracks, the Dire team retreated and awaited their next engagement.

With EHOME’s dominance through the mid and late game, Alliance could not turn the game around and called GG to a 37 minute game. This means that Alliance will drop down into the lower bracket while EHOME progress to round 2 of the upper bracket and secure themselves a top 6 finish at least.

EHOME will face the winner of the next series of the day as EG take on Newbee.
