Unlike previous year, all the WCA 2015 LAN participants are determined via qualifiers for each region and that’s why the European qualifiers are stuffed with some of the best teams from the scene.
Eight invited team will fight in a single elimination best-of-three bracket from September 21 - 24 for the first two positions that are granting their main event spots. The LAN phase is scheduled for the 17th to 21th December in Yinchuan, China.
The WCA EU bracket features three teams that haven’t touched their roster in the post TI5 shuffle but the main favorite would be the CIS sensation Virtus.Pro. The Russian juggernaugt is the highest placed EU team at The International 5 and the ones who ended Team Secret’s road for the most wanted DotA 2 trophy.
It will be interesting to watch Team Secret, who underwent significant roster changes since TI5. Both VP and Secret have been directly invited to numerous major tournaments that are set to take place within next couple of months. The WCA qualifier event should be the perfect playground for them to see where do they stand compared to other teams that also suffered major roster changes or even the newly formed ones.
The first game of the day will have Virtus.Pro facing Monkey Business, the recent MLG World Finals qualifiers winners. Judging on the recent performances of the other participating teams at this event, MB are the hottest newly formed squad and the only ones who are on a hot streak, having won five out of six of their encounters in this season
