Vici Gaming takes down LGD 3-2 to go to The Summit 2

The Ti4 runner-up Vici Gaming has managed to beat LGD-Gaming to advance to The Summit 2 LAN finals. Being down 0-2 in the series, Vici Gaming was one game away from elimination but managed to pull it back into their favor for a 3-2 victory. VG will be the 4th team that is set to travel to Los Angeles.

Vici Gaming is the third team to qualify for The Summit 2 LAN finals, taking down LGD-Gaming 3-2 in the finals of the Chinese qualifiers. The team around popular streamer Daryl 'IceIceIce' Koh has managed to come back after being down 0-2.

Games 1 & 2 were dominating performances from LGD-Gaming, showing strong execution while Vici Gaming struggled to get a foothold. A lot of unusual mistakes by the Ti4 runner-ups ended up in a quick 2-0 lead for LGD and the squad around captain Yao seemed to take the series 3-0. Vici however showed that they are no pushovers, pulling out their Invoker and Centaur combo. It seemed as if VG gained momentum and the draft for game 4 looked promising, but it was once more LGD with the upper hand. However, they failed to execute their line-up properly despite the early lead and Super managed to carry his team to a nailbiting victory on his Tiny in combination with yet another superb Invoker performance from Black^. The last game saw LGD go for a more aggressive line-up, but Vici Gaming managed to repel the aggression and turn engagements around. A stellar Ember Spirit performance by Super nets VG the win.

With this victory, VG will return to Los Angeles for the second iteration of The Summit. They will face Evil Geniuses, who have received a direct invite as the regining champions, as well as First Departure and Team Secret, both of which qualified just yesterday. The remaining two teams for the LAN finals will be determined in the coming week as the North-American qualifier is set to finish. The last team will be open for fan votes, as The Summit 2 compendium owners are allowed to vote for teams they wish to see at the event and the team that receives the most votes will ultimately be invited.
