Synergy League Roundup: Lajons looking strong

We are halfway through the European and SEA groupstages of Synergy League, with the participants fighting for a spot in the top-four that leads to the regional pre-playoffs. The Chinese groupstage is scheduled to begin on October 12th, with a single round-robin group of six squads.

The international tournament Synergy League is entering its third week, with the currently ongoing European and SEA grousptages reaching a critical point. The top-four teams of each regional division will fight the available spots in the playoffs, which are scheduled to take place in late November with one SEA, one Chinese and two European squads.

Half the matches have been played for the European groupstage, and the final standings are starting to form for the two groups of the region. AlbumS and Empire are the current leaders of Group A, with a 4-0 and 4-2 score respectively. The two Russian squads are followed by afterShock Gaming and 4 Anchors, but Virtus.Pro is in close pursuit, having played only two matches in total. As for Group B, LAJONS has yet to be defeated with five victories in five matches, while VP.Polar, PR and Moscow Five complete the top-four. Much like the first group, compLexity will have the chance to disturb the balance of the group as they have only played two matches as well.

The competition is fierce in SEA's Group A. Arrow, Insidiousidol, MiTH.TrusT and Can't Say Wips are all tied at the top with three wins each. However, MiTH.Trust and CSW have played more games than the other squads, and also have defeats in their record. When it comes to Group B we have Invasion at 4-0, followed by MSI and Johnnys Revenge with 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. First Departure completes the top-four with 2-2. One interesting thing to note in Group B is the record of MVP.Phoenix, sitting at the bottom so far with a score of 0-3 - this is coming right off the backs of them winning the Korea Dota League.

The Chinese division of Synergy League will begin on October 12th, with six teams fighting for a single spot in the playoffs. The teams, however, will not be divided in two groups, and simply Ig, VG, NewBee, LGD, HGT and DK will play best-of-one matches in round robin format. Depending on their final placement, the teams will either advance to the quarter or semi finals of the Chinese regional playoffs, which will determine the team that joins the strongest challengers from Europe and SEA.
