PR wins TechLabs Cup 2014 after 2-0 Grand Final

With a dominant performance against Virtus.Pro in the best-of-three grand final, ESFX.PR has earned the gold in TechLabs 2014 offline playoffs in Minsk. They will go home with $5000, Virtus.Pro gets $3000 while DreamTeam168 and Relax will settle for $1000.

The TechLabs convention takes place in Minsk this weekend, and it brings the conclusion of the DotA2 tournament TechLabs Cup 2014. PR, Virtus.Pro, DreamTime and Relax managed to reach the playoffs after the qualifiers earlier this May, earning the chance to compete for the $10,000 prize pool. In the end, it was Power Rangers and Virtus.Pro that reached the best-of-three Grand Final, with Power Rangers showing their teeth with a 2-0 victory.

For the first match of the best-of-three series, PR deployed some frightful gankers such as Slark, Puck and Mirana, overwhelming the dual-core line-up of Virtus.Pro. The presence of Treant Protector and Brewmaster made little difference against the persistent aggression by the Belarusians. The second game was mostly decided before the sound of the horn, as Power Rangers managed to sneak into the Roshan pit and take down the rocky giant, securing a solid gold and experience advantage. From that point, they seemed to have the upper hand throughout the entirety of the game's duration, despite Virtus.Pro's valiant comeback attempt.
