Cloud9 is the second winner of the European ESL One qualifiers, after a dominant 3-0 performance in the best-of-five final against Team Empire. The will be participating in the ESL One finals in June, competing for $150,000 at Commerzbank Arena, Frankfurt.
The ESL One LAN finals are fast approaching, and eight of the strongest teams in the world will travel to Frankfurt, Germany to battle for the massive $150,000. the ESL organization gave the chance to all DotA teams, amateur and professional, to join Na'Vi and Alliance in the tournament finals, with extensive regional qualifiers for the East and West.
Yet another European team has earned the coveted ticket to ESL One Frankfurt, through today's best-of-five grand final. Cloud9 and Empire crossed their swords, and EternalEnVy's boys offered a display of solid coordination and decision making. The Russians managed to show minor resistance, but they were unable to take a single victory in the series.
As of today, seven out of eight ESL One finalists have been decided through the extensive qualifier system. The final remaining spot will be covered by the winner of the Asian finals, taking place this May. Eight squads from SEA and China will be fighting in a double-elimination bracket, leading to the best-of-five Grand Final that decides the final team that will be traveling to Frankfurt.
