Despite playing without SingSing, Cloud9 was able to defeat MYM with a 2-0 score in their best-of-three semi final match. Through their victory, they will be joining Empire in the Grand Final of the European ESL One qualifiers, that leads to Frankfurt main event.
The ESL One LAN finals are fast approaching, and eight of the strongest teams in the world will travel to Frankfurt, Germany to battle for the massive $150,000. the ESL organization gave the chance to all DotA teams, amateur and professional, to join Na'Vi and Alliance in the tournament finals, with extensive regional qualifiers for the East and West.
The conclusion of the European qualifiers of ESL One is right around the corner, with only the best-of-five Grand Final remaining on the match list. The first semi final between Empire and RoX.KIS took place several days ago, and finished with Empire grabbing a 2-0 win to become the first finalist. Today, it was Cloud9's turn to punch their ticket to the last battle, also with a 2-0 victory against MeetYourMakers.
The odds were in favor of the Danes in the first match, after their solid early game start. Cloud9 used their strong pushing power and high physical damage to turn the tides and win Game One. The second game was quite one-sided, as Cloud9 got their hands on a frightening teamfight line-up, giving almost no chance for a comeback to their opponents. The two Tidehunter picks really boosted Cloud9's control during clashes, proving that the hero is strong once again just before The International 4.
The Grand Final is scheduled to take place tomorrow, at 18:00 CEST. The winner of the best-of-five match will be going to Frankfurt, to compete in the Commerzbank Arena main event in June.
