MeetYourMakers is big here at DreamHack Summer 2007. The whole Korean WarCraft team is here, but also the DotA team. We had a little chat with their team leader Maelk.
Maelk, the MeetYourMakers DotA team leader has been here once before, this winter. He says that it was not that much that is different this time, except for some small things.
- It was bigger then, this entire hall, B I think, was full of computers and the noise level was a lot higher than now. Actually it was a lot warmer in the winter; I don’t know how that is possible. He says that he is a big fan of DreamHack, both the atmosphere and the whole event around the LAN. But most of all he is glad that it is placed in Scandinavia where we do not have that many LANs that support WarCraft 3 and DotA.
We ask him about his teams chances in out tournament and he seems very confident they will do well. He tells us that they have been practising a lot and that they have been playing a lot on LANs lately and really gotten to know, not only each other but also everyone's playing style. Also they are no longer stranger of playing on LANs together which might help them out here.

Many people think that MYM will face Team Team in the finals, and Maelk agrees. He is certain that MYM will both make it to the finals and thinks that they will face Team Team and this time it will not end up in a loss for his team. Last time they met was in the MYM Pride where Team Team won, despite MYM being the favourites.
- Team Team played very, very well in the final games and they out picked us in any way possible. That won’t happen this time.
Do you have any special tactics planned or do you change from game to game?
We thought the tournament was going to be 43b –xl so we have been practising a lot of new things. Unfortunately you chose to play the tournament in –AP draft mode, which was a bit annoying because Sand King and Silencer wouldn’t be in every game but we do like playing with and against those heroes. Now we have to adjust and make strategies accordingly but I think we have some cards up our sleeves that you have not seen yet.
